Overview of the role

As a Fire Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for carrying out fire risk assessments across a broad range of property types, including retail, hospitality and leisure, care homes, residential, educational, commercial, and industrial buildings. The role requires a combination of technical competence, client communication, and high-quality report writing using our bespoke software and aligned with current fire safety legislation and best practice.

This position also involves contributing to internal knowledge sharing, continuous professional development, and the practical implementation of fire safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire safety assessments, including pre-occupation Fire Risk Assessments, standard Fire Risk Assessments, and External Wall Assessments (where qualified).
• Provide high-quality fire safety consultancy services to clients, offering pragmatic and proportionate solutions.
• Operate in a technical capacity, delivering detailed, compliant advice and clear, accurate reports.
• Engage with clients and project teams to ensure expectations are met and services are delivered on time and to specification.
• Stay current with all relevant fire safety legislation, regulations, and guidance, and ensure procedures reflect up-to-date requirements.
• Produce comprehensive and concise technical reports tailored to the appropriate audience and project scope.
• Participate in regular CPD and training activities to support ongoing professional growth and technical development.
• Mentor and support junior consultants and engineers to develop their knowledge and expertise.
• Promote and uphold Artec Fire’s standards, values, and quality systems in all areas of work.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures, including Health and Safety regulations.

Key skills required

• Level 4 FRA qualified (Level 3 accepted if working towards Level 4) or equivalent.
• Registered IFE Member
• 4 years of proven track record of FRA delivery.
• In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards.
• Working knowledge of legislation and current practices.

Other Requirements

• Full valid driving licence.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Excellent communicator (verbal, written and electronical).
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong customer-facing skills.
